Final

Lion - Alax Beattie 3. Cumberland - Wright, Langrehr

Lion’s cup success in 1956 was mainly down to their brilliant striker Alex Beattie. As well as scoring a hat trick in the final, he scored the winner in the quarter final against Juventus and the winner in the semi final against Enfield. The quarter final defeat was Juventus’ first loss since Rnd 8 in 1955. They had gone 32 games, league and cup, undefeated.
